Earth's many Layers


I was able to create my own educational video within eduCreations. This was my first time using this tool and I found it very fascinating. It was simple and easy to use and I love the fact that I can create a video for my students on any subject material that I am teaching. I have never really liked recording my voice or creating videos; however, by using eduCreations it gave me a new perspective on video making and I found that it was something I enjoyed doing. Before I created this video, I never thought that I would record my own voice or use a video making tool within my own classroom, but by experimenting with this video tool, I realized that it is something that I would use in my future classroom, both to teach my students about certain material and to teach them how to use the tool themselves.
By understanding how to use eduCreations I will be able to create presentations for my students to view as well as teach them how to use eduCreations in creating their own videos. One example of how I can use eduCreations within my own classroom is to assign my students to create a story about a certain topic or subject material by using pictures illustrate the story and recording their own voice to read the story aloud. This will allow my students to use their creativity in coming up with a story and also teach them reading skills.

Types of Climate


I created a presentation through Prezi about the different types of climate. This was my first time using Prezi and I believe it is a great way to create a presentation. It has a different layout than powerpoint and Google Slides and I think that in some ways it is easier to use than powerpoint and Google Slides. It also gives another type of visual other than PowerPoint. One thing that I like about Prezi is that, similar to Google Slides, you can access your presentation on any computer without emailing it to yourself. This will be very helpful to my students because if they create a presentation through Prezi, they can access it both at school and at home.
I will be able to use Prezi within my future classroom by creating presentations on any subject and by teaching my students how to use Prezi to complete their own projects. My students will not only be able use Prezi within my classroom, but they will be able to use it for presentations and projects in future classes.

Diversity Story

I created a children’s short story within Storybird. My story is about a jaguar named Jack who lives in the rain forest. Jack spends most of his time spying on the other animals, specifically the monkeys. Each animal got the impression that the jaguar was going to kill the monkeys. That was not the case. Jack the jaguar was lonely. He would spy on the monkeys because they always looked happy, but he thought he could never be friends with the monkeys because he was different. In the end, Jack the jaguar put their differences aside and became friends with every animal in the rain forest. Diversity is a huge part in schools today and if we teach our students to not let their differences affect their friendships, we can have a more diverse and friendly classroom environment.
This was my first time using Storybird and I believe it is a great way to create and present a story that will teach my students a certain concept or topic. I can also use Storybird in my classroom by giving my students the opportunity to create their own story that leads to a central theme. Some students are more creative than others and using Storybird will give these students the opportunity to use their creativity in creating a project.

Educational Videos


Within my YouTube account I decided to research and find different types of educational videos that cover many different topics that I could use in my future classroom to help my students understand certain material better or help them remember the material in a fun way. One of my favorite videos that I shared is a song about the fifty states and capitals. This song is very catchy and is a fun way to teach my students how to memorize the capitals of each state. I was able to find videos about the different parts of speech, math videos, Liberty kids episodes, as well as songs on the many presidents of the United States. I also found different videos by Crash Course that will help me teach science to my students in a fun and visual way.  
I have always used YouTube to find music videos, educational videos and videos on topics that I am interested in. However, I never thought that you could save videos that you find on your personal YouTube account. By being able to save certain videos that I find on YouTube it will help me to stay organized in my own classroom and help reduce the risk of not being to find a video that I wanted to share with a class. While using YouTube there are many videos that come up that you might not have searched for or do not want to view, so by learning more about how to navigate educational and ‘safe’ videos, I can teach my own students how to find useful videos that will help them throughout their school as well as daily lives.

Underwater Creatures


I created a Thinglink about underwater creatures that will help my students learn more about the animals that live underwater. This was my first time using Thinglink and I found it very interesting and a great way to create an interactive presentation that each student will enjoy. I was able to insert my own image on the topic I wanted to cover as well as type in information about each individual animal I wanted to talk about. I inserted video clips and images to help my students get involved in learning. I was also able to include a website that my students can go onto. They can watch videos and play interactive games that will help them learn more about underwater creatures while having fun.
I know I will use the tools Thinglink has to offer in my future classroom to allow my students a fun way of learning. My students can also use this tool by giving them the option of creating an interactive presentation for a project and presenting it to the class. My favorite part about Thinglink is that you can insert videos, photos, and websites right into the presentation which makes it quicker and easier to access when presenting the material to your class.

Learning about Poetry


I created a presentation through Google slides. My presentation is about Poetry and the many different types of poems you can write. I have used Google slides many times in the past and each presentation I have created within Google slides has turned out great. Google slides is very similar to PowerPoint and I found it very easy to use. One thing that I do love about Google slides is that you can pull up your presentation on any computer without emailing it to yourself, just by logging into your gmail account.
Within my future classroom, I will be able to use Google slides to create presentations about any subject or material that I will be teaching my students. I will also be able to teach my students how to use Google slides so they can complete their own presentations for future projects. Google slides is a very common tool to create presentations on and by teaching my students how to use this tool it will not only benefit them in my class, but it will benefit them in all of the classes in the future.

Types of Rocks Mind Map


I created a mind map within Popplet about the different type of rocks: Igneous, Sedimentary and Metamorphic. This was my second time using Popplet and I have really enjoyed using this tool. It is a quick and easy way to create an interesting presentation that students will enjoy. My favorite thing about Popplet is that you can use it to create a presentation for any subject you are teaching. Popplet is a very interactive tool and allows students to feel as if they are a part of the presentation. When presenting a mind map to your class, you can pull it up on a smart board and give your students the opportunity to move around the mind map and experience it themselves. 
By using Popplet, I found that it is an easy tool to use and you can get the hang of it quickly. Within my own future classroom, I will use the Popplet mind map tool to present material to my students and allow them the opportunity to get involved in the presentation. I will also be able to teach my own students how to use the mind map tool in Popplet and give my students the choice to create a Popplet for a project. For example, if my class is learning about the four seasons, I can assign my students to each create their own mind map explaining the four seasons.

The Color Wheel Quiz



I used Google forms to create a quiz about the color wheel that would help me test the understanding of my students. This was my first time using Google forms and I found it to be super easy in creating a simple quiz that can test the knowledge of each student. I will for sure be using Google forms in my future classroom to help me understand what my students already know and what I can help them understand a little better. What I found interesting about Google forms is that you can create a quiz or a survey without having your students enter their name. This way you can conduct an anonymous survey that can include questions on what the students think you can do better as a teacher and the way that they learn best. If you wanted to test the knowledge of each individual student, you could include a space for their name. I also liked that you can create any type of quiz for any subject you are teaching.

By using Google forms, I will be able to test the knowledge of each student and know what and how I can help them in the future. Google forms can also be beneficial to my students by giving them the option to create a quiz or survey for a project. For example, if I am requiring each student to read a book of their choice and to complete a book report, one of the options in creating that report could be to create their own quiz about the book on Google forms and write their answers on a separate piece of paper to show that they understood the book. Google forms is a great way to test the understanding and knowledge of each student and can be a great tool in my future classroom.

Christopher Columbus Timeline


I created a timeline of Christopher Columbus’s life within the Tiki-Toki website. I really enjoyed using the Tiki-Toki website and I will for sure use it within my own classroom in the future. It was super easy to use and gave an overall exciting look that I believe would be enjoyed by the students who are watching it. In the past I have created timelines on paper and it took quite some time to complete that project. By using Tiki-Toki to create an online timeline, it will save a lot of time and give it more of an organized and desirable look.
In my future classroom I will be able to teach my students how to use the Tiki-Toki website and give them the option of using this website to create a timeline for a project. Examples of projects that my students could complete using Tiki-Toki include: learning about an important person in history and creating a timeline of their life, creating a timeline of the past presidents of the United States, or creating a timeline important events in the U.S. Teaching my students how to use Tiki-Toki will not only help them with the project they will be completing but also give them more knowledge on how they can complete projects in the future.

The Parts of Speech



I decided to create a presentation explaining the Parts of Speech using eMaze. Each slide explains the nine parts of speech: Noun, Pronoun, Verb, Adjective, Article, Adverb, Preposition, Conjunction and Interjection. I was able to find videos created by Schoolhouse Rock that describe each part of speech and give my students a way to help them remember that part of speech. I loved learning how to create a presentation through eMaze and I will for sure be using this tool in my future classroom. I will be able to use eMaze within my own classroom to present certain material to my students in a fun way that will get them more involved and engaged in learning. I will also be able to teach my own students how to use eMaze and give them the opportunity to create their own projects in eMaze and present them in front of the class. By teaching my students about eMaze they will be able to express their own creativity and expand their minds in using this tool as well as be able to use it in future schooling.

Whoooooo loves to read?


I decided to create a flyer to inform my students and their parents about a class read-a-thon that is coming up and to engage my students in reading and comprehending books that they enjoy. I created the flyer within Microsoft Word and was able to understand how to use many of the tools to make the flyer more appealing to my students. Creating this flyer was one the most enjoyable projects I have completed because it allowed me to use my creativity and create what I felt would be best for an elementary school class. By understanding more about the tools in Microsoft Word, I will be able to teach my own students how to use this tool both in the elementary school setting and in the future.

Our Solar System




      I decided to create an infographic about our Solar System. It includes a picture and color of each planet in our Solar System as well as interesting facts about each planet. I also included an acronym within the infographic to help my students remember the order in which the planets go in. I enjoyed creating this infographic and learned a lot about how to use this tool within my own classroom. I will be able to use the infographics website in my own class by creating projects and information guides to help my students learn in a fun way. My students will be able to use this tool by having the option of creating an infographic for one of their projects. This will allow the students that do not enjoy writing to bring out their creativity and have fun with the project.

Multiplication Monster





Within google docs, I created a math worksheet specifically for students in 3rd grade. The math worksheet I created is entitled Multiplication Monsters and allows students to practice their multiplication facts while having fun as well. While using google docs, I was able to learn many new techniques about formatting and tools. In my future classroom, I will use google docs in creating assignments, newsletters, projects, instructions, etc. I will be able to teach the students in my class how to use google docs so they can write essays, create brochures, and complete projects in my classroom as well as future classes.

Newsletter


I decided to create a newsletter for the month of January, specifically for a third grade class in Elementary School. Within the newsletter, I included a letter directed towards the students and parents, the upcoming events, spelling words, contact info, book of the month, and so much more! While creating my newsletter, I was able to find more information on what types of events go on in an elementary school and what types of activities I can do within my own classroom. 

I enjoyed creating this newsletter and I know that this will be something that I will use and recreate when I am teaching my own class in the future. I can use the newsletter to keep track of everything that is going on throughout the month and to inform parents and students of the upcoming events and what is new for the month. A newsletter can also encourage and uplift each one of my students by doing star student, announcing birthdays, and writing motivating words and quotes. I am glad I was able to learn more about creating a newsletter and am excited to be using a newsletter in my future class.

Social Studies: Elementary Education



I decided to create a Pinterest account specifically designed for Elementary Education. The board that I created is Social Studies within Elementary Education. I have always loved learning about social studies and I was able to find many new ideas and activities that I can use in my future classroom. I have learned that each and every student learns differently and in order to be an effective teacher you need to use different types of learning methods throughout the year. 

Many of the activities that I found were hands-on activities which will be great for the kinesthetic learners in my class. I also found multiple videos and songs about the states and capitals and the preamble that will be useful for the musical learners. By using this Pinterest account within my classroom, I will be able to learn what type of learning style works best for each student and they will be able to use their creativity in deciding how to complete projects.
